



Featured for its outdoor natural areas and open spaces, Oscoda Township provides residents and visitors outstanding recreational opportunities. Beckett and Raeder Inc. and the Township have implemented a Parks and Recreation Plan that centered from the public input process and the Township’s overall mission. The process emphasized projects that improved the quality of recreational opportunities available in the area. Projects that included implementing a resilient park and trail system, updated infrastructure and amenities, surrounding collaborations with local municipalities, and establishing an overall Parks and Recreation identity.
One unique aspect that helps claim Oscoda Township’s successful recreational identity is its proximity to Lake Huron, the AuSable State Forest, and the Huron Manistee National Forest claiming it a desirable destination for outdoor activities. One popular destination is Oscoda Beach Park, which is located on Lake Huron, with 1,000 feet of lake frontage and excellent recreational facilities.
The Oscoda Township Parks and Recreation Plan seeks to accomplish realistic objectives that provide and maintain the surrounding recreational environment and updated facilities for safe access and enjoyment by residents and visitors.
