Main Street Oakland County honored several individuals, communities and local businessed for their efforts at their annual 'Main Event' held at Glen Oaks Golf Club in Farmington Hills. Among the honorees was the Walled Lake Downtown Development Authority and Beckett & Raeder, Inc. for the 'Outstanding Core Area Downtown Master Plan' for the Walled Lake DDA Lakefront Area Framework Plan.

The Framework Study included a physical assessment of existing conditions, review of circulation and parking, public outreach consisting of stakeholder interviews and community vision sessions, market overview and assessment of retail potential, identification of potential redevelopment sites, conceptual master plan, physical opportunities plan, illustrative framework plan (above), implementation program, and an implementation sequencing schedule.

The Framwork Plan sets in motion a logical palette of projects and programs which position the Historic Lakefront for revitalization and redevelopment.
