Ypsilanti Township was awarded a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant for improvements to Lakeside Park in Ypsilanti Township. This project is a collaborative effort and includes Ypsilanti Township, Eastern Michigan University, Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation and the Saline Area Schools Rowing Club. Park Improvements include pedestrian and vehicular access, parking, trails, a fishing pier, canoe, kayak, shell launch facilities, a community boat house, picnic shelter, and innovative sotrm water management. All facilities will be universally accessbile.

The grant application, written by Beckett & Raeder, Inc., received top scores in all areas and $500,000 toward the project.
